These groups are where some of our best competitive gymnasts began their journey. The gymnasts in these groups are usually selected from our pre-school and recreational classes. The coaches look for children who are naturally strong and flexible and are keen and eager to learn. They would also look for children who work hard, have good concentration and attend their sessions regularly.

During these early years children will be working on the fundamental shapes and conditioning that are required to learn more advanced gymnastics skills. We insist on good form, i.e. legs tight and straight, pointed toes etc in order to make these things second nature, creating good habits rather than having to correct bad ones when they are older. Children in our development groups will be prepared to compete in their first external competition in the year in which they turn 8.
